If you're a PlayStation user and a fan of metroidvania games, you probably noticed one that Xbox introduced in 2022, The Last Case of Benedict Fox, which would have exclusivity, at least on consoles, but that agreement was temporary.
We know this because the developer Plot Twist and the distributor Rogue Games announced that the Tim Burton-style and Lovecraftian-themed title will have a version for PlayStation 5 and it will be the best.
Why will The Last Case of Benedict Fox be better on PlayStation 5?
This new version will be named The Last Case of Benedict Fox: Definitive Edition and will feature many new features and improvements. Combat and platform movement will be faster, there will be graphical and user interface enhancements, as well as artificial intelligence improvements for enemies.
It's important to remember that The Last Case of Benedict Fox originally debuted on April 27, 2023, so its exclusivity on Xbox consoles has already been for 5 months. It is unknown when it will end, as no release date or window for the PlayStation 5 version was revealed.
On the other hand, this definitive version was announced only for PlayStation 5, and it is unknown if there are plans for Xbox and PC users to have access to it through a free or paid update.
