A Diablo series? Blizzard has interest in the idea after Fallout impact on Prime Video
By Daniel Laguna onRod Fergusson spoke about the possibilities of seeing an adaptation of the saga

Video game adaptations to film and television are becoming more and more common. Fallout is another proof that this kind of productions have a lot of potential, so surely more companies will be encouraged to take their sagas to the big and small screen.
Rod Fergusson, creative of Blizzard in charge of Diablo, was questioned about the possibilities of seeing an adaptation of this franchise. After the success of Fallout, the developer left the doors open, as he believes the project would have a lot of potential.
Blizzard doesn't rule out a Diablo series

In 2020 hints of a possible Diablo animated series with anime aesthetics surfaced; however, no more was heard about the project and it remained just a rumor. In addition, in 2016 creatives suggested an adaptation with Netflix, but nothing materialized.
Due to the success of several series based on video games, Fergusson revealed if there is a chance to see an adaptation of Diablo. During an interview with Windows Central, the creative confessed that the idea pleases him as he believes it has potential. Unfortunately, he explained that for now there is nothing planned, so Diablo will not have a series in the short term.
"Yeah I definitely think it could work. That's one of the things I really liked about Diablo as an IP, is that it's got very relatable themes because it's The High Heavens versus The Burning Hells, and that idea of Good versus Evil. I think that's something that could translate very well to something like that," Fergusson stated.
The creative also explained that he really enjoyed Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, an anime based on Cyberpunk 2077, and other recent series. From his perspective, we've had some great shows in recent months, so he'd love to see Diablo join that trend.
As Fergusson rightly notes, Diablo has all the elements to become a compelling TV series: an engaging world, a very special atmosphere, and a narrative that can certainly be expanded in many ways.
