Activision Blizzard games are “nothing unique,” says Microsoft
By Frida Salazar onComing from the company who wants to buy them…?

The Activision Blizzard acquisition by Microsoft is in its “final stages”… or at least it seems like it. According to a document presented to the Business Acquisitions and Authorisations Commerce Commission, Microsoft has told New Zealand regulators that there is "nothing unique" about Activision Blizzard games.
Microsoft had to make clear that the production company doesn't produce any "must have" titles. You may be wondering why; and it's pretty simple, they just want to explain in easier words that the purchase is not a synonym for monopolization.
As you may know, Activision Blizzard doesn't create all the video games in the market, so competition between developers will not suffer concerning changes with [a good] “number of significant competitors post-transaction including Tencent, Nintendo, Electronic Arts, Sony, Take-Two Interactive and Epic Games.”
This should let them go ahead with the acquisition
Yeah, we know… it sounded weird but maybe there weren’t kinder words to describe the fact that the acquisition may not affect other game manufacturers.
For now, all points to Microsoft obtaining the regulatory approval it needs to go ahead with the merger. Also, we should remember that the transaction is still waiting for approval by the Federal Trade Commission in the US which may be decided in the first weeks of August.
