
Good news anime fans, yesterday MAPPA officially announced via their social media platforms the official release date for the Chainsaw Man anime, the long-awaited adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga.
The series will premiere on October 11, 2022, at midnight in Japan, meaning that it will appear on western platforms like Netflix, Hulu, and Crunchyroll an hour after the broadcast begins, on October 12, 2022, at 9 AM PST.
An ambitious project
Chainsaw Man is MAPPA’s most ambitious project; as shared back in July at Anime Expo, the studio confirmed that this adaptation will be uncensored and as faithful as possible to the manga. Actually, author Tatuski Fujimoto was completely involved in the entire production, allowing the studio to add content that is unique to anime.
The studio also had fewer limitations as this adaptation does not have a Shueisha team in charge of a production committee, but it is all in the hands of the animation studio. We certainly can’t wait for the final product. While we wait, we will leave the latest trailer below:
