OpenAI aims to make ChatGPT accessible to as many people as possible. To achieve this, Sam Altman's company has taken a major step by launching its artificial intelligence on WhatsApp, the world's most widely used messaging service.
Thanks to this, users of Meta's platform can now interact with ChatGPT directly from their iOS or Android devices, without needing to log in or open the AI's interface in a web browser.
How to Use ChatGPT on WhatsApp

In case you didn’t know, ChatGPT is a language model that uses artificial intelligence to perform a variety of tasks, such as generating text, translating, performing calculations, interacting with images and voice, and much more. This has made it a widely used tool.
Now, with its integration into WhatsApp, anyone can leverage its capabilities directly from their phone. The AI has launched on the messaging service with its basic features, making it free to use for all iOS and Android users.
To start using it, you only need to add a number to your contact list. Once added, ChatGPT's official account will appear in WhatsApp. Here are the steps to use it:
- Go to the Contacts section on your iOS or Android device
- Add the number +1 800 242 8478
- Open WhatsApp and refresh your contact list
- That’s it! You will now see ChatGPT's business account in WhatsApp and can interact with the AI
Simply start a conversation with ChatGPT as you would with any other contact. You can ask questions, request information, share ideas, or even seek help with specific tasks.
What Does ChatGPT Offer on WhatsApp?
As mentioned, ChatGPT arrives on the messaging service with its basic features. This means it does not support all the functionalities available in the web version, but it remains a very useful tool.
On WhatsApp, ChatGPT enables text generation, calculations, and other tasks that do not require voice interaction or image processing. For now, you cannot send voice messages or ask it to generate or interpret images. Additionally, this version does not provide real-time information but can still answer many of your queries within seconds.
