But, now we will talk about a specific and very loved Nintendo character, Donkey Kong. This is because we saw a different design from what we are used to. Even Shigeru Miyamoto decided to comment on this.

WHY DID NINTENDO CHANGE DONKEY KONG DESIGN?
As Miyamoto explained, the reason they changed to Donkey Kong's appearance was that they wanted to give him an appearance with a "more comical" personality. With this, the emblematic leader of the Kongs has curious proportions and a more good-natured face.
“It's been over 40 years since the release of the original Donkey Kong, which was also my debut game. We changed his design for the first time since he became a 3D model in the original Donkey Kong Country. Some of you may have noticed, but for this film, we took the opportunity to give him a comedic personality and design reminiscent of the original character. What do you think?" Miyamoto explained in the Nintendo Direct.

What do you think of the redesign of Donkey Kong for Super Mario Bros. The Movie? Do you prefer the new one or the one from Donkey Kong Country?
Super Mario Bros. The Movie will be released on April 7, 2023.
