The folks at WB Games Montreal surprised all future Bat-Family players by announcing Heroic Assault, a mode of Gotham Knights that will introduce the much-requested 4-player cooperative game mode.
Since there is no 4-way co-op in Gotham Knights, the Canadian affiliate of WBIE decided to go back and review all of the feedback it has previously received from those who urged the creators to fill this gap as soon as possible.
In making the surprise announcement of this new mode, the team at WB Games Montreal prefers not to go into the details of the content but simply states that Heroic Assault will be a free four-player cooperative experience.
The defenders of Gotham City will therefore have the opportunity to play as Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, or Red Hood to defeat the thugs of the Court of Owls within multiplayer lobbies consisting of up to four users, presumably in the setting of endgame activities not too dissimilar to Destiny's Raids or Marvel's Avengers.
The fans naturally want to see Heroic Assault's gameplay reveal as soon as possible so they can learn what obstacles the Bat Family will face. However, WB Games Montreal is eager to inform us that the new mode will be accessible beginning Nov. 29 as a free update for everyone who purchases Gotham Knights on PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X/S as of Oct. 21.
