The update 0.1.5.1 resolved several issues with the game on both Xbox Series X|S and PC. However, it also made a change that Pocketpair kept secret and did not report in the official update notes: the banning of certain words.

Players are upset about this adjustment and raised their voices in various forums and social networks. They claim that the censorship applies even on private servers and in the Palworld solo experience.As you can imagine, the patch banned the use of certain offensive words, which impacted some users' names.

The complaint of many is that, for now, you can't make a name change without starting a new game. For some reason, some gamers believe this is Xbox's decision, so they criticized the company for bringing censorship to the popular game. They claimed that the company's and Microsoft's policies on the issue are very strict.

"I suspect this is about aligning the Steam and Xbox versions, as Microsoft has quite strict requirements on this sort of thing," said one user.

Given this, developers accepted that the word filter still needs to be improved; however, they asked players not to create theories or conspiracies about the issue. That said, the feature is here to stay and will not go away despite complaints from some fans.
