Fans of FromSoftware are celebrating because ELDEN RING: Shadow of the Erdtree is now available. However, some players are not very happy with the DLC, as they find it too difficult. For this reason, they used Steam reviews to complain and criticize Hidetaka Miyazaki.
Many players believed that their journey through the Lands Between in the base game would make their adventure in Shadow of the Erdtree more manageable. However, they were greatly surprised to find that the level of challenge can be even higher.
ELDEN RING: Shadow of the Erdtree Receives Criticism for Being Too Difficult

The title debuted on Steam with very positive reviews, as it was one of the most anticipated releases of the year and convinced many fans with its high quality. However, its reviews are now mixed, as some players frustrated with the difficulty decided to give it a thumbs down.
Many believe that the challenge level of certain bosses is too high and feel that their experience and progress in the base game doesn't help much. For this reason, they think the DLC is not fun and therefore not worth investing in.
"This DLC is too hard, and just plain not fun. All the bosses have ridiculously high health pools, barely any openings, and plenty of frustrating and unrewarding mechanics. And if you fix that, it's still not fun.
"If you can't beat Malenia without summons or an OP build in 10-15 tries, I recommend you don't buy it. If you can do that, only buy it if you really, really, really, really enjoy FromSoftware titles," said one fan.
This type of review has sparked controversy among the community and genre enthusiasts. Some fans think that the challenge is what makes the DLC and other games from the studio appealing, so it doesn't make sense to complain about it.
