Unfortunately, we do not always bring good news, and in this case, it is one of those times.
Justin Roiland, a creative best known for being the co-creator of Rick and Morty and the video game High on Life, is facing domestic violence charges in the Orange County, California justice system. This is in connection with an accusation that arose in May 2020 and which was registered by the Orange County District Attorney.

According to information from NBC News, Roiland faces one count of domestic violence with bodily injury and one for the crime of unlawful imprisonment with threat, violence, fraud, or deficit. The outlet reports that Roiland originally pleaded not guilty in 2020 and that the creative's lawyers have not commented.
The lawsuit has had more than a dozen court hearings, but no trial date remains. It should be noted that details such as police video footage, police reports, abuse investigation reports, medical reports, and interviews are private.
According to records, the incident occurred on January 19, 2020. The accuser remains anonymous, but it is mentioned that she was Roiland's girlfriend at the time. The legal process began in May 2020, when Roiland was arrested and released after posting bail of $50,000.
In addition, in October 2022, a restraining order was registered against the creative. In the order registered in court, Roiland is prohibited from harassing, threatening, or supervising the person who accused him. Thus, the creator of Rick and Morty cannot be less than 3 meters from the person. The order will expire in October 2023.
We will stay tuned and let you know when we have more details about this case.
