Thanks to a recent document, the multimillion-dollar amount that Microsoft had to pay to acquire Ninja Theory has just been revealed.

When Microsoft acquired Ninja Theory in 2018, the multinational company did not disclose financial details, so it was unknown how much they had spent to acquire the English studio and its franchises... until now.

According to a legal document showcasing recent acquisitions in the gaming industry, Microsoft acquired Ninja Theory for $117 million. This happened in 2018, so if you adjust the price for inflation, the amount would be slightly larger today: $141.6 million.

To put it into context, Microsoft acquired Ensemble Studios in 2001 for $100 million and Rare in 2002 for $375 million. THQ Nordic acquired Koch Media for $149.6 million. Meanwhile, Square Enix sold Eidos to Embracer Group for $300 million.
