The digital format of video games is the most common today. Although physical copies are not as widely purchased as they were a few years ago, they are still the preferred method for many console owners.

We had Black Friday recently, a great day for video game lovers to take advantage of and get titles they have been wanting for months. In the UK it was a great day mostly for Sonic Frontiers and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Based on GfK data from GamesIndustry.biz, the benefits for these two games are as follows:

  • Sonic Frontiers had its price reduced to £30 during Black Friday. "As a result, the Sega platform game rose 203% in sales". From the No.10 position in the charts of physical sales in the Uk last week, it went up to No.7."
  • Nintendo's favorite racing game, Mario Kart 8: Deluxe, had an incredible 226% increase in sales. For Black Friday, they offered a special Switch bundle that made it the No.1 seller. A week before was in the No.8 position, moving to No.4 after the recent sales.

These two games are for sure great games for the holidays. You can have fun and go on a great open-world adventure playing Sonic Frontiers or challenge your friends and family to see who is the fastest racer in Mario Kart.
