Nintendo just confirmed another round of price hikes, this time affecting Switch consoles and accessories in the United States, a major market for the company.

Over the past year, Nintendo has steadily raised prices several times, making it tougher on gamers’ wallets. This latest increase affects all Switch models, including the standard Switch, the Nintendo Switch Lite, and the OLED version, as well as various Switch 2 accessories.

While the new prices officially take effect early next week, some big retailers jumped the gun and started applying them today, apparently by accident.

What’s Changing?

Here’s a quick look at the new prices for the consoles:

  • Nintendo Switch - OLED Model now costs $399.99, up from $349.99
  • Nintendo Switch increased to $339.99 from $299.99
  • Nintendo Switch Lite went up to $229.99 from $199

On the accessories side, prices are rising as well. The Joy-Con 2 controllers and Nintendo’s Alarmo clock are among the items that will cost more. While Nintendo hasn’t shared the full list, some stores are already showing price bumps:

  • Joy-Con 2 increased from $95 to $100
  • Alarmo went from $100 to $110

What About Other Regions?

For now, these increases are confirmed only in the United States, but similar hikes have popped up elsewhere recently, including Canada and Saudi Arabia. Given how close Mexico and Latin America are to the U.S. market, many expect price bumps to reach those regions soon, even if Nintendo hasn’t said anything official yet.

What About the Switch 2 Price?

Nintendo has made it clear that the Switch 2 console and its games won’t see a price increase for now. The company appears keen to keep its latest hit system affordable, especially considering it has already sold over 6 million units worldwide.

However, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa warned earlier this year that ongoing tariffs and trade tensions could lead to changes down the line, so this might not be the last hike we see.
