Adding to the galaxy of new features in Update 4.0 of No Man's Sky is the Base Building App made by Charlie Banks: the independent technical artist, who has always been a big fan of Hello Games' space sandbox, has just launched a powerful space station editor.
The independent developer known on NexusMods as DJMonkeyUK has thus decided to facilitate the work done by those who, once they have discovered an alien planet of their liking, wish to put down roots there by preparing a base that combines aesthetics with functionality.
How does it work?
In presenting this free app, Banks reports that he was inspired by games such as Townscaper. Still, one only has to take a quick look at the explanatory video in the tweet to realize the strong similarities with tools such as the editor with which to customize Starfield's spaceships.
The software developed by the British Technical Artist promises to make creating bases in the free-roaming universe of No Man's Sky easier and more fun. The program integrates convenient tools to change the color, angle, and (if possible) size of the individual modular elements listed in the database of the space adventure conceived by Sean Murray.
In case you missed it: The Callisto Protocol intensifies the hype with a live-action TV Spot.
Banks' creative tool, in any case, is still under development: future updates are expected to fix some bugs and introduce additional features, such as the ability to manage electrical wires between base components.
