The community is of the opinion that it is somewhat regrettable due to the fact that the tech giant did everything possible to gain control of the successful franchise, which generates billions of dollars a year and is one of the most profitable in the industry.
We know that studios such as Infinity Ward, High Moon Studios, Raven Software, Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games lost staff after the wave of layoffs. In addition, all indications are that Solid State Studios, the team working on Warzone Mobile, also suffered the consequences.
Some creatives lamented the situation and detailed what happened. Michael Guerra, senior QA leader at Sledgehammer Games, said he had "no words" to express what happened, as he lost practically his entire team.
Some studio creatives even lashed out at Xbox and Microsoft Gaming executives, believing it was an unfair move for workers. In addition, they believe that there will be no benefit for gamers in the long or short term.
