Time to update your PS5

With updates, Sony has the chance to improve certain aspects or add new features to its console. The 24.08-10.40.00 update for PlayStation 5 brings improvements that many players will appreciate.

First, there are the routine adjustments the company makes with each update. This time, Sony has improved the messaging system and made tweaks to make using the console easier on certain unspecified screens.

On the other hand, the new firmware optimizes the data transfer process from one PS5 to another. This is especially useful when users want to upgrade or switch their system, like when getting a PS5 Slim or PS5 Pro, and don’t want to lose their data from the original console.

Sony also improved stability when transferring large amounts of data, which will benefit the transfer of materials such as captures, which can take up a considerable amount of space.

The 24.08-10.40.00 update does not include other new features or optimizations. It is now available for download across all regions and requires approximately 1.3 GB of free space for installation.
