Pokémon: Wallace & Gromit studio to collaborate with the franchise on a project that will delight fans, when will it debut?

Pokémon is one of the largest multimedia franchises in the entertainment industry. Over the years, it has expanded massively with games, movies, animated series, and more.
There's exciting news for fans, as The Pokémon Company has confirmed a new project for the saga in collaboration with a prestigious studio: Aardman, best known for Wallace and Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, Timmy Time, and Morph.
Aardman takes on a new Pokémon project

Through an official announcement, The Pokémon Company International and Aardman confirmed a collaboration for a mysterious new Pokémon project. What we know so far is that the production will feature the studio's signature style. This strongly hints at stop-motion animation using meticulously crafted figures.
Unfortunately, fans will need to exercise patience, as the production will take time. For now, the release is expected sometime in 2027, bringing fresh stories set in the Pokémon universe.
Taito Okura, Vice President of Marketing for The Pokémon Company, celebrated the partnership and expressed confidence in Aardman’s ability to deliver a project that will exceed fans’ expectations.
“This is a dream partnership for Pokémon. Aardman are masters of their craft, and we have been blown away by their talent and creativity. What we have been working on together ensures our global Pokémon fans are in for a treat!”
On the other hand, Sean Clark, Managing Director at Aardman, stated that everyone at the studio is thrilled to work with Pokémon, given its massive importance in the entertainment world. He also guaranteed a product that will delight fans of the saga.
“Bringing together Pokémon, the world’s biggest entertainment brand, together with our love of craft, character and comedic storytelling feels incredibly exciting.”
What is Aardman?
In case you’re unfamiliar, Aardman is a British animation studio founded in 1976. It became an industry icon with Wallace and Gromit, a franchise acclaimed for its unique humor, engaging storytelling, and handcrafted visual style that has become its hallmark.
Aardman’s success extended to film and TV productions like Shaun the Sheep, Timmy Time, and Morph. The studio is also involved in film and animation education. It has received numerous Academy Awards and BAFTAs for its work.
