Rumors about Resident Evil 9 continue, and a new report has just emerged with supposed details about the next Capcom game. The new information complements some past reports and also contradicts information that insiders shared in recent weeks.

The source of the information is Andi from Screenfire Germany, who is backed by prominent insiders of the franchise such as Dusk Golem. Contrary to previous reports, the informant claims that Resident Evil 9 will not only feature Leon S. Kennedy as the protagonist, but he will be accompanied by Jill Valentine.

He stated that Jill will be to Leon what Sheva is to Chris in Resident Evil 5. Additionally, he mentions that the title was originally designed to be a cooperative game; however, Capcom decided to shift its focus to a single-player experience.

In this regard, there is still a possibility that the game will incorporate some cooperative elements. Andi claims that Capcom considered removing Jill as a second character but ultimately decided to keep her as one of the main characters.

He also mentions that the title will not be completely open-world but will feature elements of that formula, such as the extensive areas in Resident Evil Village. He adds that the new installment will be in third person, with the possibility of seeing a first-person option in the future.

He highlights that the game's story will not focus on Blue Umbrella or the BSAA, although the latter alliance might be mentioned briefly. Lastly, he mentions that there will be faster and more aggressive zombies.
