RUMOR: new PlayStation 5 model would be arriving in 2023
By Mary Roots onThe hardware would be practically the same as the current one, but with a new chassis

When Sony revealed the PlayStation 5 console, all fans were thrilled with the design because of how minimalist and elegant it looked on video. However, it was a great surprise when they began to see the physical console because of its large size. Many users have commented that it is somewhat cumbersome.
Apparently, the criticisms about the PS5 design were heard by Sony. According to Tom Henderson for Insider Gaming, sources close to Sony informed Henderson that the company is plotting to launch a new model for the PlayStation 5 console. It is rumored that it will come out in September 2023.

WHAT CHANGES WOULD THIS NEW PLAYSTATION 5 MODEL HAVE?
It’s been suggested that this new console will completely replace the A, B, and C Chassis that have been in production since its launch.
The console, currently named the D chassis PlayStation 5, will have almost identical hardware to the existing consoles already on the market. But, the most surprising change for this new console is that it will have a detachable disk drive.
The detachable disc drive will be connected to the PlayStation 5 using an extra USB-C port on the back of the console. Exactly how different the design will be from the new model is unknown. However, it is rumored that Sony is aiming for it to be the same console but thinner and lighter.
SHOULD YOU BELIEVE THE RUMORS ABOUT THE NEW PLAYSTATION 5?
This continues only as a rumor; at the end of the day, there is no leak about it or official announcement, so it would be good to keep your reservations. However, you also have to consider that Tom Henderson has proven to be one of the industry's most reliable and accurate journalists. On several occasions, he has shown to have sources on projects related to PlayStation, Electronic Arts, Activision, and even Kojima Productions.
As an extra fact that makes Tom Handerson a reliable source, he was the first to share information about the new DualSense model that was revealed months ago.
Do you consider if it would be better to have a new model of this console? What do you think about this? Tell us in the comments.
