According to a new entry on the Sony Interactive Entertainment blog, the Japanese company it’s trying to reaffirm its commitment to the indie scene by making PlayStation the best place to publish and play games.
How are they going to achieve this? Apparently, they are about to implement a new initiative that will make it easier for new partners to hop in and get started with developing for PlayStation by lending them all the tools.
If you are a game publisher or developer, you are possibly eligible to receive one PS5 development kit, a PS5 testing kit, and compliments of SIE so you hop in and get started with developing for PlayStation.
To be part you need to sign up on the PlayStation Partners portal, but remember, not every country is part of the list of supported regions on the PlayStation Partners registration process so check it out first here.
Access to development and testing kits is an important part of the plans to make a video game and it is hardware that is not cheap, much less for small studios or lone creatives who have ventured into the industry, so this represents a great opportunity.
