Square Enix’s Forspoken will be delayed (again)
By Sara Araujo onIt looks like the anticipated title won’t be arriving this year

Forspoken is one of the titles from Square Enix that’s been developed for PlayStation 5. The project itself has already become a fan favorite and one of the year's most anticipated titles. Initially, Forspoken planned to launch sometime this year, but sadly, it looks like the title won’t arrive in 2022.
Through a brief post on social media, Square Enix and Luminous Productions stated that the title would be delayed until January 24, 2023, because the title is still in development (“in its final polishing phase”). So, unfortunately, we will have to wait a little longer to get our hands on it. In case you didn’t know, the original release date would be May 24, 2022, under Project Athia. However, after being officially changed to Forspoken, the game was pushed to October 11, 2022. So even though it's just a couple of months of difference, this news has the fans and gaming community harshly wondering if the game itself will be worth the time. Most of the time, delayed titles bring more expectations, hence more disappointments. Hopefully, this won’t be the case with Forspoken.
What seems to be the reason behind this? It looks like Square Enix is trying to find a way to make the best sale when fewer titles are coming out. Maybe the game it's not on "polishing" phase. What's your take on this delay? Let us know in the comment section!
