Despite a few hiccups and postponements, we should almost be there: Tchia has been confirmed for 2023, and we will soon be able to enjoy The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker-style adventure inspired by a fairytale setting, New Caledonia.

Speaking on the subject of the tropical paradise that inspired the work created by the small independent studio Awaceb, the developers have released a new video diary on Youtube that focuses on the journey the team undertook through the real New Caledonia, located on the southwestern side of the Pacific Ocean not far from Australia.

Enjoy the paradise

In the short film released by Awaceb, the second in a series of three diaries related to the development of Tchia, it is possible to see the typical flora and fauna of New Caledonia, which offered all the insights the studio needed to bring their project to life.

Evocative beaches, fascinating creatures, and breathtaking views are only a small part of what New Caledonia offers. There is no shortage of wilder and lesser-known scenery and a wonderful coral reef that characterizes the seas surrounding the island. All of these elements are well-presented in Tchia, as evidenced by the gameplay sequences included in the film, which accurately and faithfully recreate what this earthly paradise has to offer.
