Xbox is still working to improve its relationship with Square Enix, as it wants to prevent important releases from the studio from being left out of its consoles. Apparently, things are on the right track, as Square Enix announced at Tokyo Game Show 2023 that one of its popular JRPGs will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC via the Microsoft Store.

Square Enix will support Xbox with this long-awaited release
During the Japanese event, Xbox and Square Enix announced that Octopath Traveler II will finally be coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. The port of the sequel does not yet have a release date, but we know it will be available in early 2024.
Additionally, the game will also be available on PC via the Microsoft Store. In case you don't remember, the title was released in February this year for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Steam.
Although its first installment came to Xbox and could be enjoyed on Game Pass, the sequel has been absent from the brand's ecosystem for all these months. Thus, the Tokyo Game Show 2023 announcement is great news.
Will Octopath Traveler II be coming to Xbox Game Pass? That's something that is unknown for now, as during the reveal at Tokyo Game Show 2023 nothing was said about a possible release on the service. Below you can watch the announcement trailer:
