Earlier this year, PlayStation announced the release of a new version of Until Dawn. The original PlayStation 4 title is now ready for its return on PlayStation 5 and PC, platforms where it will feature multiple enhancements that will make it an even more immersive and terrifying experience.
There is good news for players awaiting this release, as PlayStation finally confirmed the release date for the new version of Until Dawn this morning. Additionally, they detailed some of the improvements and adjustments that will be included.
When will Until Dawn debut on PlayStation 5 and PC?
Neil McEwan, creative director of Ballistic Moon, explained that everyone at the studio is a fan of Until Dawn, so they did everything possible to improve it without changing its essence. To achieve this, they completely recreated the title using Unreal Engine 5, Epic Games' engine.
Thanks to its tools, the title will feature better lighting and ray tracing. Additionally, the character models will look better than ever. Moreover, the game will have a third-person camera and a restructured prologue to delve deeper into important aspects of the narrative.
As if that weren't enough, the studio added new collectibles to the game and various accessibility options so that everyone can enjoy it to the fullest. It's important to note that the PC version of the title will require a PlayStation Network account, as has been the case with all recent PlayStation releases on computers.
So, when will it debut? The enhanced version of Until Dawn will be available on PlayStation 5 and PC on October 4. Pre-orders on both platforms will begin on August 21.
