Good news N64 fans, unexpectedly Nintendo revealed another classic which is about to arrive on Nintendo Switch Online, let’s say that this is just a big slap in the face of nostalgia.
That is right! According to the Nintendo of America’s official Twitter account, Wave Race 64 is coming to the Switch online service on August 19 when Expansion Pack subscribers will be able to get their hands on it.
If you are too young to know…
Wave Race 64 debuted in September 1996 in Japan and in November of the same year in North America. Its original name included a connection to the Kawasaki sports brand and its water ski line, Jet Ski, although later releases no longer used that reference.
This title was developed by Nintendo EAD under the direction of Shinya Takahashi and the production of Shigeru Miyamoto. Its release brought endless praise as it was considered an extremely fun game, with great mechanics, movement physics and incredible response to contact and movement in the water, something rarely seen in a videogame at least at the time.
Of course, the community as always gave their opinion, some were pleased with the latest addition calling it one “the best games the Nintendo 64 had to offer”, other ones keep asking for their favourite classics, hopefully, one day all these petitions will be fulfilled.
