Microsoft's CEO announced the arrival of the official Xbox Cloud Gaming application on the Meta Quest digital store for VR devices during the Meta Connect Livestream that took place today.
With the Meta Quest Store landing of the service originally known as xCloud, all Oculus/Meta headset owners who are Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will have the opportunity to use the VR viewer to access hundreds of streaming video games.
As Nadella pointed out, it will be possible to play Game Pass titles within a virtual interface expressly designed for Oculus/Meta Quest visors: the video stream, of course, will be handled in 2D, so there will be no exclusive VR features usable by Quest visors.
All Xbox Cloud Gaming video games on Meta Quest will be compatible with Xbox controllers, so simply connect a pad to the headset and use it to navigate the interface and play the titles in the catalog on a large virtual screen. The launch date of the app will be announced at a later date.
Naturally, you must first sign up for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service if you want to take advantage of Xbox Cloud Gaming. The latter costs $15 and offers you access to Microsoft's cloud gaming platform, as well as a vast library of games.
