Watch out! 2K Games confirms theft and sale of player data after hack

The company recommended its players to take measures to prevent further damage

It seems that we are in the season of hacks since the most famous recently was Rockstar with the leaks of GTA VI, then Blizzard with the DDoS attack, and now 2K Games joins the list of hack victims.

The 2K Games company has alerted all gamers in late September about malware emails sent by a third party from its internal systems.

The recommendations offered by the company are as follows:

-Reset any user account passwords stored in your web browser
-Enable multi-factor authentication (personal email, banking, phone, internet provider accountrs)
-Install and run a reputable anti-virus program
-Check account settings to see if any forwarding rules have been added or changed on your personal email accounts

Firstly, when the company discovered their attack, they opened an investigation, but they did not know how much this attack affected players. Unfortunately, this morning, the company announced the bad news that hackers managed to steal information from their players, and that information is now being sold on the Internet. For this reason, he invited the players again to reinforce their security measures.

HACKERS SELLING PLAYER INFORMATION AFTER HACKING 2K GAMES

Unfortunately, hackers managed to gain access to the sensitive data of the 2K players. How? Accessing the internal platform of the 2K Games support site and sending malicious mail to players.

The information obtained is worrying, as the hackers got data such as emails, Gamertags, identification numbers in the support service, details about their consoles, and more.

To all this, the company contacted affected users since the middle of last week. They confirmed that they are working with the authorities on the investigation and that their support site is working smoothly again.
