The problems are not over yet for the PC editions of the Dark Souls series of games, whose online functionality was the subject of significant disruptions in 2022.

After a long silence, the Japanese software house returns to address the issue, with further communication addressed to fans of the Action RPG saga.

Which servers are back online?

The last updates on this front date back to last August, with the announcement that the PC version of Dark Souls III would be restored online.

FromSoftware confirmed the restoration of the second chapter's online functionality in the tweet. As of today, PC gamers can therefore return to engage in multiplayer within Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin. Unfortunately, the intervention made by the Japanese authors involves only the re-release, with the base version of Dark Souls II still affected by the issues. The latter, it says, will be corrected at a "later stage."

In case you missed it: Sony removed the expiry dates from PlayStation Plus’ games.

The reason for terminating the online services of Prepare to Die Edition is attributed to an outdated system. Apologizing for the matter, the team says instead that they are still working to make the online of Dark Souls: Remastered active again.
