According to Tom Henderson, a reporter for Insider Gaming, the Xbox team is surprised at the extent of recent rumors about its strategy change. He speculates that this could affect the decisions of the company and Microsoft, who are reportedly still analyzing the possibility of releasing their games on other platforms.

From Henderson's perspective, reports and rumors could push companies to take a course without having the time to analyze things calmly. The source states that in reality nothing has been decided; however, he believes it is a fact that certain games will come to PlayStation and Nintendo.

"Speaking with a few folk over there, they [Xbox] was very surprised at the extent of the rumours because nothing was set in stone apart from Hi-Fi RUSH and Sea of Thieves from what I've gathered.

"Honestly sounds like for the most part it's been a prime example of Chinese whispers or people just making s*** up to capitalise off the hysteria. It will be interesting to see what is said because the rumours seem to be fueling decisions that might need more time in the oven so to speak," said the journalist.

He reiterated that the companies are still analyzing their possible change of strategy, but that the rumors generated pressure to make an announcement. We know that Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft Gaming, will clarify everything sometime next week.
