After Batman Arkham VR, made for PlayStation 4 by Rocksteady in 2016 and converted a year later to PC, it seems that the iconic Bat-Man may return to star in another virtual reality-based game.
This time, however, Rocksteady would not be involved in any way: according to a Federal Trade Commission document, a new Batman VR is reportedly currently in development at Camouflaj studios, already known for making Marvel's Iron Man VR for PlayStation VR in 2020.
Is this game a reality?
Last September Camouflaj was acquired by Meta, with the Iron Man VR adventure and landing on Meta Quest 2 last November 3. And now it seems that the two parties are already at work on their next project, which should be based precisely on the iconic DC Comics superhero.
At present, however, neither Meta nor Camouflaj have officially confirmed the existence of a Batman VR-related project for Meta Quest 2, so one has to wait for official confirmation from those directly involved, which at this point should not be long in coming.
In case you missed it: Epic Games Store reveals 2 free games available next week.
Marvel's Iron Man VR has a lot of good qualities; we would therefore be hopeful about a possible new Batman game in virtual reality made by Camouflaj, assuming the project exists in all respects.
