At this week's PlayStation Showcase, Sony announced Project Q, a new portable device designed for streaming from your PlayStation 5 and playing without a TV. This Wii U-like device has generated a lot of criticism, and now it seems that it will receive more, as a new report suggests that its battery leaves much to be desired.

According to Insider Gaming, the same outlet that originally reported on the existence of Project Q back in April, the battery life of Project Q will be lower than that of the DualSense. The device's autonomy is expected to last between 3 and 4 hours.

As a point of comparison, a full charge of the DualSense lasts between 12 and 15 hours of gameplay. On the other hand, the battery life of the DualSense Edge lasts between 5 and 10 hours. It's not surprising that Project Q has less autonomy, as it also needs power for its screen. That said, many would expect Sony to use a larger capacity battery given its size and power requirements.

It is important to note that Sony has not yet confirmed the autonomy that Project Q will have. We will keep you informed when we have more official details about this device.

Remember that Project Q is scheduled to debut sometime this year, and according to Insider Gaming, its release could be in November. Its price is unknown.
