Epic Games brings lo-fi music to Fortnite, and it’s a delight
By Sara Araujo onThe vibin’ theme of this season has covered the entire mood of the game

We just went through the season finale of Fortnite, and while COLLISION was everything we expected it to be and more, Epic Games couldn’t help but introduce a new surprising element. In case you missed it, we’ll leave you the gameplay for COLLISION here, alongside a few hours of beautiful lo-fi music.
This was Epic Games’ way to keep the users engaged and the content creators free of copyright situations. Yesterday, Fortnite's "To Be Continued..." screen displayed a shot of some alien-looking mushrooms with very chill tunes in the background. It became so popular that many players uploaded it to YouTube to keep the music going a loop. As a result, the official video now has more than 10 hours of fantastic tunes that match this season’s mood, Vibin’, ideally. The lo-fi starts at 12:53.
The music was procedurally generated by Unreal Engine 5, and it’s one of the many examples the company has of how far it has come. The lo-fi music was an intelligent move from every angle, and it’s pretty enjoyable.
