Madden 23 has just been out for a month and things for players are already a bit of a mess as many of them are complaining of ridiculous interceptions and lost progress which any update has been able to fix. Even though the latest release was marketed as the “most polished version” of Madden in years, things are not as good as they say.
Apparently, the game is filled with issues, some of them too serious that affect completely the gameplay. So, to begin with, one of the most mentioned problems is the bugged plays where some are unable to start the game, and for others, a series of basic elements disappear like the kick meter.
Outdated in-game references, serious issues with broken modes, lost progress, and balls repeatedly slipping through receivers’ hands are other issues that at this point the game should be having.
EA didn't bat an eye
Even if users share evidence of all these bugs, EA doesn’t seem to be bothered at all. This had reached such an extent that some players are planning to boycott the game, however, their idea will not help very much as the studio is not very interested in players’ threats.
Speaking of evidence the Madden subreddit to this point is flooded with footage of these bugs. Going from “How does the ball go through my receiver's hands for an interception?” to “Our league keeps getting kicked back to the 2nd round of the draft.”
With this amount of crashes and bugs, we can label Madden 23 as unplayable. The franchise didn’t live up to the expectations and now is a hot mess.
Even though this could be fixed with a greater amount of involvement from the studio, or at least with more transparency and frankness about the current state of the game; the situation is not promising at all which will push players until they stop playing Madden 23 for good.
