Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is coming this year, and fans of the web-slinger are very excited. There's good news for all of them because Insomniac Games has prepared a surprise: a prequel to the title that can be enjoyed for free very soon.
Highlights from the studio's creative team and Marvel have prepared a special comic that will serve to tell some of the events that happened after Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. So we'll see Peter, Miles, and MJ in a new adventure.
Writer Christos Gage and artist Ig Guara teamed up to imagine a prequel to Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and turn it into a comic. The comic book will tell us how Miles is doing in school, how MJ's journalism career is going, and what Peter thinks about the existence of another Spider-Man.
According to Insomniac, it will be a comic full of action and exciting battles against The Hood, a villain who will make his first appearance in the universe planned by the studio. The publication will debut in America on May 6, the day Free Comic Book Day is celebrated.
Interested parties can visit a comic book store or download the comic book for free digitally through Marvel Unlimited or the Marvel website. The good news is that the comic will also arrive worldwide at a later date, yet to be confirmed. It can be read for free on Marvel Unlimited.
"In this story, their lives collide as Peter, Miles, and MJ try to balance their responsibilities to the city and to each other. They keep returning to one of the main themes of the comic: Is magic real? Because in this action-packed issue, a beloved supervillain makes his first appearance in our universe and appears to have supernatural abilities that defy simple webs and fists: none other than The Hood!" the studio revealed.
