Microsoft is looking to strengthen the Xbox ecosystem at all costs with attractive games. To do so, it has formed alliances with important studios that have developed titles for its consoles and PC. Good news for Xbox users, as the company has just closed another deal for a new title: Project Maverick.
Project Maverick is People Can Fly's new game for Xbox
Microsoft signed an agreement with People Can Fly for the development of a game known by the codename Project Maverick. According to the details, Microsoft will be completely responsible for financing the title, which will have a budget of between $30 million and $50 million USD.
Thus, it will be a AAA project, and Microsoft will own the IP. Due to this, it can be inferred that it will be an exclusive, although it has not been confirmed. If you don't recall, People Can Fly was in charge of developing OUTRIDERS, a game that was distributed by Square Enix.
They are also responsible for Gears of War: Judgement and Bulletstorm. For now, there are no concrete details about the game they are preparing for Xbox, but we have known for some time that the studio is working on an action-adventure title.
On the other hand, recent reports claimed that the studio was working on an exclusive title for PlayStation 5 with the codename Red. It is not clear if these projects are related or if the alleged title for PlayStation is still in the works.
