Sony will improve the PlayStation Portal with a new update
By Daniel Laguna onThe system update will be available starting tomorrow

The PlayStation Portal divided players' opinions upon its reveal; however, over time, it has earned the approval of some. Sony is aware of this, so they are preparing a system update scheduled to arrive tomorrow, which will include both adjustments and attractive new features.
What updates and adjustments will the PlayStation Portal receive?

Sony wants its players to use their PlayStation Portal in more places, so the upcoming system update will enable the system to connect to public Wi-Fi networks that require additional validation steps besides a password, such as networks with login screens.
To facilitate these connections, the system will display a QR code that players will need to scan with another device, such as their phone or tablet. This allows them to complete the additional validation and connect to a public wireless network with their PlayStation Portal.
Additionally, Sony will add visual feedback to the touchpad zones. This enhancement will display an effect when players use the touchpad zones during remote play, adding an appealing detail to the system's usage.
Lastly, the update will enable an option to display battery level as a percentage. This option will be found in the Settings menu, under the System tab, in the Battery option. The update is set to be released tomorrow, June 19th.
