Stellar Blade Surpasses 1 Million PC Sales in Just Three Days

Stellar Blade developer SHIFTUP has recently revealed that its action-adventure title has sold over 3 million units since its launch early last year.
"We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support," the team wrote on social media. "We hope you will continue to support both Nikke and Stellar Blade!"
Impressively, over one million of those copies were sold on PC within just three days of its release on the platform, proving there's still appetite for original, single player games. To put this milestone into perspective, when Stellar Blade made its debut on PlayStation 5 in April 2024, it took almost two months to hit the same mark.

The title also took less than 24 hours to surpass 100,000 concurrent players on Steam, becoming only the second Sony-published game to do so, after Helldivers 2.
Despite sparking some controversy early on, Stellar Blade earned mostly favorable reviews and currently holds an 82 average on OpenCritic, along with a 9.2 user score on Metacritic, thanks to its highly methodical combat mechanics and striking visuals.
This level of success has already led SHIFTUP, the first Korean studio to become a second-party developer for Sony, to confirm a sequel, though no details have been revealed beyond a projected release window sometime before 2027.
The news comes just weeks after Sony executives reaffirmed their commitment to multiplatform strategy. While reiterating that PlayStation remains “the best place to play and publish,” Sony Interactive Entertainment president Hideaki Nishino and Studio Business Group head Hermen Hulst also stressed their interest in “new and innovative ways to broaden (the brand's) reach”
