Rumours sometimes give us amazing news… sometimes no. This time is the latest as according to Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb, during the Xbox Era podcast, shared that Ubisoft is planning to cancel Roller Champions.
Apparently and according to his source, the company is going to cancel the game after Season 3 which is ridiculously soon as the game arrived a month ago on Nintendo Switch and two months ago on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
We cannot always speak of success stories
Roller champions was first announced in 2019 as a free-to-play online sports game developed by Ubisoft Montreal; sadly even though it has received several seasons of content following its launch, and according to Ubisoft’s latest financial call, is performing better than Hyper Scape, the game it's on thin ice.
Seems like this wasn’t enough as the popularity of the title is going down and down, so as we said at the beginning the upcoming season may be the last.
This isn’t the only game that Ubisoft will kill as during the latest earnings call Ubisoft confirmed it had cancelled Ghost Recon Frontline, Splinter Cell VR and two unannounced games, while Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was delayed.
Do you think it is well deserved? Let us know in the comments.
