Xbox wants to fulfill its broken promise and guarantees 4 first-party games per year.
By Daniel Laguna onHead of Xbox Game Studios knows players are thirsty for titles.

Months ago, Xbox promised a steady stream of first-party releases; however, the reality is that they have had difficulty making it happen. The clearest example of this was the drought of titles from Xbox Game Studio in 2022. Thus, they broke the promise they made about launching at least one first-party game every three months to strengthen Xbox Game Pass.
Fortunately, it seems that things have changed, and Xbox will soon be able to keep their word. This is because Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios, has once again promised a better flow of releases for the coming months.
Xbox promises a steady flow of games every year
Xbox Game Studios has gone through complicated moments due to internal delays, titles taking too long to arrive, and games stumbling at launch. Despite this, they have managed to offer attractive titles to users of their consoles and Xbox Game Pass.
Now that their upcoming games are closer, Xbox is confident that it can deliver four first-party titles per year. Booty confirmed this, speaking about his plans for the future in a special panel held after today's Xbox Games Showcase.
Geoff Keighley, in charge of the Summer Game Fest, shared the information on his social media. The news is undoubtedly good news for Xbox fans, who will be able to enjoy very attractive titles in the coming months and in 2024.
This plan seeks to remedy the broken promise and ensure that Xbox players have access to a diverse range of experiences, both in terms of genres and gameplay styles.
"In an Xbox panel after the event, Matt Booty said his goal is to have 4 first-party games per year," shared Keighley.
