It is increasingly common to see new adaptations of anime or video games on streaming services. We have gone through many examples, and this time it is the turn of the My Hero Academia anime to have a live-action movie on Netflix.

Surely when you think about this, your first (and valid) reason will be the fear of repeating nightmares like the live-action of the Death Note anime; however, before you get scared, we have good news for you.

First, it is essential to mention that The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Netflix would have the rights to the live action My Hero Academia movie. But the good news is that the streaming service will not be in charge of its production; another company will be in the order of the project.

That company is Legendary Entertainment, which in case you don't know, is an American company that has been in charge of producing movies like Batman Begins, Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, Dune, and Warcraft: The First Meeting Between Two Worlds.

The fact that Legendary Entertainment is in charge of the project does not ensure the film's success or in itself excellent quality, but at least we have better hopes.

THE MOVIE OF MY HERO ACADEMIA ALREADY HAS A SCRIPTWRITER AND DIRECTOR

According to The Hollywood Reporter report, Legendary has already chosen the screenwriter who will take charge of this adaptation. This is Joby Harold, best known for participating in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Army of the Dead.

On the other hand, the adaptation will be directed and produced by Shinsuke Sato, who has worked on productions such as GantZ, Bleach, and Kingdom. This is the first production that this Japanese director will do in English.
